Spanish outlet Marca report that Harry Kane has asked his current club Tottenham Hotspurs for time to think over his future with the side hoping to offer him a new contract.
It is suggested the England international striker is keen to know if manager Mauricio Pochettino will stay at the North London club beyond this campaign.
The Tottenham manager has also been strongly linked with La Liga giants Real Madrid and a double swoop for Pochettino and Kane could well be in the pipeline.
Pochettino is among the top favourites to replace under-pressure French tactician Zinedine Zidane and has been a bit coy on his future.
Premier league giants Manchester United have also displayed interest in both Harry Kane and the tactician, although Jose Mourinho’s fresh deal at the club has put any head coach changes on the back burner.
Portuguese tactician Jose Mourinho has also insisted he will not sign any more attackers following the acquisition of Chile international Alexis Sanchez.
That would point everything in the direction of the Champions League holders who have frequently been linked with Harry Kane this term with their present strike force faltering and displaying signs of ageing.
France international striker Karim Benzema is expected to be offloaded in the summer, while Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo’s futures are uncertain.
Harry Kane is being lined up to replace Benzema, while club President Florentino Perez would like to sign Brazilian Neymar to replace Cristiano Ronaldo.
Spurs however are keen to keep hold of their top players and the boss and will refuse to transact business this summer window as they prepare to head into the new stadium.
